Stephen Thompson is a partner and design principal with Thompson Pollari Studio, an architectural and planning practice in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The Studio’s work is characterized by sustainable and culturally appropriate design, with particular emphasis on projects that fit into their neighborhood and their broader regional context.

As an architect, Steve has been directly responsible for design and construction supervision on over $300 million in public and educational facilities in over 30 years of practice. Mr. Thompson has extensive experience in all facets of building planning, design and construction. The hallmark of Mr. Thompson’s work is design excellence based on intensive user input. As a facilitator, he is capable of leading large and divergent groups to consensus through interactive workshop formats. He believes that the greatest satisfaction in design is to provide the Client with ownership of the process and the product. 

Mr. Thompson has broad experience in campus planning, development and building program construction, with a specific interest in projects that span long timetables and result in community interaction and community building.
